The Real Cost of Big Boob Bras

When it comes to bras for fuller busts, people are often surprised by the higher price tags. This price difference is rooted in the complexities of design and manufacturing. Bras for big boobs require more material, stronger support structures, and intricate engineering to provide adequate lift and comfort.

For instance, wider straps, reinforced underwires (or in our case, wire-free alternatives), and multiple hook-and-eye closures are common features that contribute to the increased cost. While a standard bra might retail for $30-$50 (or even less in department stores), a well-made fuller bust option is usually going to start at around $60-$70 and is often a lot more.

It’s a common misconception that these bras are overpriced simply because of size discrimination. In reality, the additional expense reflects the specialised craftsmanship and superior materials needed to create a supportive, long-lasting garment for fuller busts.

Here at Sugar Candy we’re as passionate about supporting the planet as we are your boobs. So we spend time considering the most waste-free, eco-friendly solutions so that we can deliver you a durable, long-wearing, sustainable product with as minimal impact on the environment as possible. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost, but it’s not something we’re willing to compromise on.

We’re also one of the smaller fish in the lingerie sea. As a result, we can only afford to do limited production runs which drives up our cost per piece. We’d love to be doing huge runs like some of the sharks out there, but we’re not there yet!

This does come with its advantages, though! We’re a lot more involved in the manufacturing process than some of the larger brands, so when we were creating the Bestie Bra and realised we had some leftover power mesh, we had to put it to good use. And thus, the Bestie Brief was born.
